名誉領事の役割
在つくばボスニア・へルツェゴビナ名誉領事は、ボスニア・へルツェゴビナと日本の両国の友好関係を促進し、文化、貿易、経済、その他の分野における協力関係の継続と、さらなる発展を目的に、関東領事管轄区域（東日本）を管轄エリアとして、本国政府からその職務を任命されています。

2024年1月22日ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ大使館にて名誉領事伝達式を行い、ズラタン・ブルジッチ外務省大臣官房長は、ボスニア・ヘ ルツェゴビナ大統領府の名誉領事任命に関する決定に従って、領事管轄権の譲渡に関する文書を提出され、この日私は在つくばボスニア・ヘ ルツェゴビナ名誉領事に就任いたしました。この重責を果たすことは私にとって大きな責任であり、と同時に大きな喜びでもあります
これまで私がボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナを何度か訪れるたびに感銘を受けるのは、多様な文化が織りなす美しい町並みと、本当に豊かな自然です。百聞は一見に如かずと言いますが、ぜひ皆さまにも訪れて見ていただきたいです。
そして何よりも深く感じるのは、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの人々の心の中に、人としての美しさ、奥深さ、力強さを感じることです。その感覚はどこから来るのか？それは同国では30年前に悲しい歴史があり、それを乗り越えて前に進もうとする人々の強い気持ちが、そう感じさせるのかもしれません。
日本も過去に戦争や大震災といった多くの悲しい出来事があり、それを乗り越えて前に進んできた歴史があります。そこに日本人との共通点を見出したのかもしれません。そして私は、少しでもボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナと日本の交流のために力になりたいと考えました。そんな折に、名誉領事として任命されましたこと、大変光栄に思っております。
今後は一歩づつ、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナと日本の文化、経済の交流のために、微力ではありますが努力して参りますので、皆様のお力添えをお願いいたします。
最後になりますが、この言葉で締めさせていただきます。日本語では「ありがとう」という意味のボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの言葉です。私はとても美しい響きだと思っております。皆さんもぜひ一つ覚えてください。

Greetings
On January 22, 2024, the Conferment Ceremony of Honorary Consulship was held at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the Director of the Bosnian Minister of Foreign Affairs office, Zlatan Burzić presented the document regarding the transfer of consular rights in accordance with the decision of the Bosnian Presidential Office regarding the appointment of honorary consuls. On this day, I assumed the position of Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Tsukuba. Fulfilling this important responsibility is both a great duty and a great pleasure for me.
What impresses me every time I visit Bosnia and Herzegovina is the beautiful townscape woven from diverse cultures and the truly abundant nature as the seeing is believing. I strongly encourage you all to come and witness it with your own eyes.
And what I feel most deeply is the beauty, depth, and strength of humanity within the hearts of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Where does that feeling come from?
Perhaps it’s because Bosnia experienced a tragic history 30 years ago, and the strong determination of the people to overcome it and move forward makes me feel that way.
Japan has also experienced many tragic events in the past, such as wars and major earthquakes, and has a history of overcoming them and moving forward. Perhaps I found common ground with the Japanese people there. Therefore, I deeply desired to contribute to the relationship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan. It is a great honor to have been appointed Honorary Consul at this time.
In the future, I will strive, step by step, to foster cultural and economic ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan, even though my contributions may be small. I kindly ask for your cooperation.
Finally, I would like to conclude with this word. It’s a Bosnian and Herzegovinian word that means ‘thank you’ in Japanese. I think it has a very beautiful sound. I encourage you all to learn it.

駐日大使 ご挨拶
ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ大統領府の決定により、つくばに名誉領事館が開設され、名誉領事の池田時浩氏がその任に就くことになりました。この事は両国の外交関係強化と、両国の友好関係深化における新たな章の始まりという、重要な節目になりました。
ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナと日本との良好な関係は、歴史的に非常に困難な時期に始まりました。 両国の国交樹立は、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ紛争終結のわずか2ヶ月後の1996年2月に実現しました。 我が国は1999年に日本に大使館を開設し、日本も2008年に大使館を開設しました。
豊かな文化遺産、歴史、伝統を持つボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナは、イノベーション、学術的卓越性、国際的なつながりで知られるつくば市に領事館を設置できることを誇りに思います。この領事館の存在は、特に貿易、文化、教育、人的交流などの分野において、我が国と日本の緊密な関係を促進するという私たちのコミットの決意を表しています。
つくば市の皆さまの温かい歓迎とご支援に感謝いたします。両国だけでなく、より広範な国際コミュニティーに恩恵をもたらす架け橋を築くためにこの協力は非常に重要です。
日本は我が国にとって最大の支援国のひとつであり、日本政府を通じて日本の市民が実施するプログラムは、我が国の市民にとって非常に有益です。地雷除去、学校施設の改修、交通インフラの改修、教育やスポーツへの支援といったプロジェクトは、成功裏に実施されたプロジェクトのほんの一例です。
文部科学省のプログラムにより、我が国から50人以上の学生が日本で研修を受け、国内では800人以上の学生が日本語の基礎コースを修了しました。国民の間には、日本についてもっとよく知りたいという熱意が絶えずあります。
新たな一歩を踏み出すにあたり、外交とは政府間の公式な交流にとどまらず、文化を超えた永続的な友情と相互理解を築く事でもあるという事を胸に刻みましょう。私たちは平和、繁栄、相互尊重という価値観を共有しており、名誉領事館が両国の絆をさらに強固なものにしていく事と考えています。ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ駐日大使として、両国の利益のために名誉領事館の業務が成功を収めるよう最大限の連携を深めていきます。
最後に、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナと日本のすべての国民にも健康と幸運を願っております。

In accordance with the decision of the Presidency of BiH, an Honorary Consulate in Tsukuba was opened, headed by the esteemed Honorary Consul Mr. Tokihiro Ikeda. This event marks a significant milestone in the strengthening of the diplomatic ties between our two nations and the beginning of a new chapter in the deepening of our friendship.
The development of good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan began in the period when Bosnia and Herzegovina was going through a very difficult period in its history. The establishment of diplomatic relations followed in February 1996, just two months after the end of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina opened an Embassy in Japan in 1999, and Japan opened an Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2008.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, with its rich cultural heritage, history, and traditions, is proud to establish this consulate in Tsukuba, a city known for its innovation, academic excellence, and international connections. The presence of this consulate reflects our commitment to fostering closer ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan, especially in areas such as trade, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
We are grateful to the people of Tsukuba for their warm welcome and support. This cooperation is vital as we work together to build bridges that will benefit not only our two countries but also the broader international community
Japan is one of the largest donors to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the programs implemented by the citizens of Japan through the Government of Japan are very beneficial for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Projects such as demining, renovation of school infrastructure, renovation of transport infrastructure, assistance for education and sports are just some of the successfully implemented projects.
More than 50 students from Bosnia and Herzegovina have received training in Japan through the MEXT program, and more than 800 students have completed a basic Japanese language course in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is a continuous desire among the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to get to know Japan better.
As we embark on this new chapter, let us remember that diplomacy is not just about formal exchanges between governments, but about building lasting friendships and understanding across cultures. We are united in our shared values of peace, prosperity, and mutual respect, and I am optimistic that the opening of this consulate will further strengthen our bonds.
Finally, I wish good health and much family happiness as well as to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Japan.

超党派 日・ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ友好議員連盟を代表し、在つくばボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ名誉領事館の活動に対しまして、深く敬意を表します。
ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナは、人口約321万人（2023年・世界銀行推計）、複数の民族と宗教が共存し、多様な歴史・文化と豊かな自然を持つ国です。
1996年2月9日、両国の外交関係開設以来、多方面においての交流がはじまり、日本は、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの平和定着と社会経済発展のために様々な支援を行ってまいりました。
ドボイ橋及びモドリッチャ橋建設計画などのインフラ整備をはじめ、2021年度にはサラエボ大学哲学部内に日本語及び日本文化コース専用の教室が新設されるなど、文化・教育分野での交流も進んでおります。
そのような中、在つくばボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ名誉領事館は、関東領事管轄区域を対象につくばという国際性の豊かな地において、互いの共通点と違いを認め、尊重しながら交流を深める様々な取組を行っております。
ウェブサイトをご覧のみなさまにおかれましても、両国の友好関係にご関心をお持ちいただければ幸いです。今後とも、在つくばボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ名誉領事館の活動が日本とボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの架け橋としてさらに強固な関係が築かれることを心より祈念いたします。

Greetings
On behalf Japan and Bosnia-Herzegovina Friendship Parliamentary Group League,
I would like to express my deepest respect for the activities of the Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Tsukuba.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country with a population of approximately 3.21 million (World Bank estimate on 2023) where multiple ethnic groups and religions coexist, with diverse history, culture and abundant nature.
In wide-range field exchanging activity between the two countries has begun since diplomatic relations established on 9 February 1996, and Japan has provided varied support to contribute to the consolidation of peace and socio-economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Cultural and educational exchange has been promoting, such as the cultural infrastructure development contributing for the construction plan Dovo Bridge and Modrića Bridge, as well as Japanese language and cultural courses were established within the Philosophy Department of Sarajevo University and newly built a classroom for them in 2021.
In the course of such developments, the Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Tsukuba, which is targeted at the Kanto Consular District, is engaged in deepening exchanges between the two countries with recognising and respecting each other’s commonalities and differences in the city of the internationally diverse.
We hope that people who visit this website will take an interest in the friendly relations between the two countries.
We sincerely hope that the activities of the Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Tsukuba will continue to serve as a bridge between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, further strengthening the bonds between the two countries.

和歌山県西牟婁郡にある「すさみ町」は、令和4年6月30日にボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナの「イェゼロ市」と姉妹都市提携を締結し、産業、観光、文化、教育等の幅広い分野において交流を行っています。

プラム食品株式会社の会長である長井保夫氏が名誉領事を務め、和歌山県を含む近畿２府４県を管轄している。同氏は、和歌山県西牟婁郡にある「すさみ町」と、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナにある「イェゼロ市」との友好姉妹都市提携や、和歌山大学と東サラエボ大学の大学間協定の締結に繋げるなど、両国の友好に貢献されています。
